Not only is George directing this film but he is also the man behind the story.

George began his acting career in 2019 as Support Artist and has gone on to securing character roles on TV drama's that include the crime drama 'THE BAY'.
George also starred in BBC's 'Bring The Drama in 2024

LOUISE HERON
1ST A D
Louise is not an actor but has a passion for supporting the cast and also has an eye for detail

Louise is on set at every shoot and helps with continuity issues, script errors or oversight and is there to keep order when it all gets going.
​
When not on set Louise is also working hard behind the scenes making sure that the cast are up to date with the schedule and are ready for the next location shoot

HARRIS MILLER
George
​From a really young age he has always had a love for acting and stage. From playing the roles of Mowgli,Billy Elliott,Gingy to Bill Sykes. When this opportunity came along he grabbed it with both hands and has loved every second of it. Once one scene is complete he can’t wait to move onto the next. He feels so lucky to represent the North East and wants show that good can always shine through when you reach for your dream. Harris wants to thank everyone for trusting him with the role of George and aims to do it justice x
RILEY D McGUIRE
Lily
Riley lives in County Durham with her husband, step-son & 2 dogs.
Despite loving acting from a very young age, it wasn't until much later in life that she took up acting through the People's Theatre, Jesmond, where she was cast in Hay Fever (Jackie Coryton), Sense & Sensibility (Lucy Steele), A Chorus of Disapproval (Faye Hubbard), and Hi de Hi (Betty Whistler).
Riley then turned her attention to Commercial, TV & Film acting and has had many different roles. She is an active member of the British Acadamy of Dramatic Combat (BADC); and has been in 3 award winning short films (A Fools Errand, To Bee or not to Bee, and Bruised). Hopefully, Wenlock Road will be the next award winning film she's been featured in!
HANNAH MARTIN-LAWRENCE
Jacqueline
Hannah plays Jacqueline, the main focus of 'George's' interest but will she or wont she respond to the crush that he has on her

Maggie
​Hi my name is Betsy-Rose, I'm 11 years old, I love anything pink, and you can never have enough sparkle! I live with my Mam, Dad, little Sister & 2 Cockapoo's.

My passions in life are acting, singing and dancing- I"ve been so lucky to get the opportunities to work with some amazing people. My favourite place to visit is London, my dream is to be on the West End 💗

MICK STAFFORD
Matty
Acting has been a passion of mine for many years. Following 30 years in the Police, 25 as a Detective, I was given the opportunity to become involved in local theatre.
I have been involved in a number of stage shows including, The Full Monty, (Reg), Priscilla Queen of the Desert, (Numerous parts), Oliver, (Mr Brownlow), Adams Family, (Lurch) and many more.
In 2022 I was given a part in a Student Film called “Prisoners” and through that I joined the brilliant “Stage Right Newcastle”, allowing me opportunities to be part of films, ‘Zulu4Zero’ as DC Daz Miller and the current film, ‘Wenlock Road’ as Matty.
In between I had a part in a professional film called ‘Stripped Down’ which is awaiting a release date.
I cannot wait for what is ahead.
PHOENIX HAYNES
Mary
Phoenix plays Mary, the wife to Matty. Both live next door to Geordie & lily and they are at a loss about what to do when they hear the arguing from next door.

Phoenix is a British American stand-up comedian - stage name The Uncivil
Servant -and spiritual practitioner.
She claims to have been raised by wolves, but we think this is unlikely to
be true. What is true, however, is that she has a cackle that would strip
paint, a talent she discovered playing the Wicked Witch of the West in a
university pantomime version of the Wizard of Oz.
Phoenix is non binary.
PHILIPPA BRIGGS
Edna
NATALIA READ

Maisie
Phil plays Edna, a right old busy body of a woman. Every estate has someone who knows all the gossip and scandal and cant wait to tell anyone who cares to listen; that's our Edna.
Philippa enrolled for evening workshops at the Theatre Royal to gain stagecraft for her performance poetry. She enjoyed acting so much that she joined Stageright as soon as it was formed in 2022.
Since then she has performed in Zulu4Zero (a Stageright short film), Apricots (a York University student film), The Ghost Train (The Little Theatre Stage Production) and will shortly be seen back on stage in Cleadon performing in Ladies Unleashed.
She is thrilled to be playing the role of Edna in Wenlock Road alongside her Stageright friends.
JEFF JOHNSON
Billy
Jeff plays BILLY the brother to Geordie. Billy & Geordie dont get along but Billy, being the older brother feels that he needs to keep a check on Geordie and the family, much to Geordies annoyance.

Jeff trod the boards on a regular basis when younger however a career as a chef took over and the acting took a back seat. Since returning to the Theatre a couple of years ago he has starred in The Haunting and more recently played a lead role in The Ghost Train. Jeff has recently joined Stage Right Newcastle working with other actors and meeting on a weekly basis at The Little Theatre Cleadon, he is also an active member of the Gilbert & Sullivan Society in South Shields, having just recently retired Jeff is looking forward to spending more time resurecting his acting career.
Natalia is a seasoned actor having had roles in TV commercials and dramas. Nat plays Viv, a wonderful joyful soul that runs the local corner shop with her father.

Natalia has always had a passion for acting but started her journey as a actress at the age of 29 .
Natalia has been casted in TV commercials, promo adverts , music videos, dramas, short films and music videos. While in her day time job works as a residential childcare practitioner but hopes to be a full time actress one day.
Natalia is currently training with the mark jermin stage school and attends regular acting workshops with professionals.
Maisie, the woman everyone loves to hate played superbly by Rochelle. Maisie is the thorn in the side of Geordie and is set on putting him in his place.

'After living in various places in the UK, Rochelle moved to the North East in 2019 and hasn't looked back since. Her love for acting was re-kindled after joining workshops at the Theatre Royal in 2021, where she met a lot of great people and joined the Stage right crew being a member since it's formation in summer 2022. She has thoroughly enjoyed working with the cast and crew of Wenlock Road and would like to thank everyone for their continued support'
TONY CHAPMAN
Danny
Tony Chapman is very pleased to be playing the part of Danny in Wenlock Rd.
This is the second production which he has been involved in with stage right Newcastle.
Tony is a familiar face at the Little Theatre Cleadon. Not only is he vice chair, he has been in many plays at the Little Theatre including The Haunting, Farcicals and Dial M for Murder to name a few.
Since retiring from the fire service, the theatre has almost become a second home to Tony and Stageright is a large part of that.
He is never happier than when he is on stage either acting or singing with his wife Sara or with The Swamps (his five piece live band)
Wenlock Rd offers an opportunity for him to explore the tv and film aspect of the acting world and he looks forward to what the future holds.
KEVIN VASSALLO
Fred Delderfield
Kevin plays the station master and boss to Massie, Danny & Geordie. He is a laid back man who is out of his depth and just looking forward to retirement.

Mr Stout
Jeff Cummings plays Mr. Stout. By happy chance the part was being cast at the same time Jeff was helping identify filming locations and when the call came for a grumpy old man he thought he might qualify. Jeff worked in the NHS and in education before retiring.'

MAGGIE BURNS MBE JP
Rosie
Maggie for the last 3 years has been Chair of The Little Theatre Cleadon, it’s a small theatre in the heart of Cleadon Village. She has been in several plays at the theatre and acts in Murder Mystery events which are held in hotels across the country. She is also a Magistrate, School Governor and School Invigilator, although her true passion lies within the theatre.
Being in Wenlock Rd was an amazing experience and so different from acting on stage, she learned new skills and will hopefully continue to do more of this whilst not losing sight of her first love- live theatre.
GARY NUGENT
Naval Recruiting officer
Gary began acting in 2023 when he was cast as Gomez Addams in a local production of The Addams Family musical. He was approached shortly after by Stage Right Newcastle and asked to be part of their collective. He has since appeared in Stage Right's 2023 short film Zulu4Zero where he played DCI Tony Wright. Gary was cast in the part of Shunter in RedJay production's 2023 Movie Stripped Down. He also played the part of Lyndsey Wolsley in the 2023 musical production of Mame and most recently the part of Bob in Priscilla queen of the desert and Admiral Schneider in the Sound of Music in 2024
THOMAS NUGENT
Chris
​Thomas' acting experience began when he started attending drama club at his school at the age of 12. His first appearance was in the musical Aladdin as ensemble. He then appeared in The Addams Family musical as an ancestor, and in Matilda the musical as Rudolfo. He then joined two musical theatre groups and in 2023 he was cast as old man Jenkins in Spongebob Squarepants the musical and in early 2024 he played the part of Kristoff in Disney's Frozen. Thomas also played the part of Donkey in his school performance of Shrek the musical in 2024 and he has been cast as Freiderich Vonn Trapp in the Sound of Music.
ADAM BERKELEY
Joe - Railwayman
Adam plays the role of Joe a worker at the same rail yard where Danny & Geordie work. Joe is a quiet man but likes to be one of the Lads

JOE COOKE
Steven Howe
Joe is thrilled to be playing Steven in Wenlock Road and can’t wait to see and tell the story onscreen. Previously, Joe has played the lead in a short film with Act2Cam and likes performing on stage too. He has played Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol, Kurt in The Sound of Music, and enjoyed being part of The Westovian Pantomime. Recently, he loved making noise in the School of Rock at The Tyne Theatre and also performed at Durham Cathedral as the grandson in a play written by Mike Mcgrother, where he acted alongside Michael McNally.
Joe is grateful for the opportunity of being part of Wenlock Road and telling the real life story of a local lad.
CALLUM MASON
Sea Cadet Officer
Callum plays the role of the officer at the sea cadets where George ends up one night, he is surprised that George has walked all the way to the unit and is worried that all is not as it should be at home.
Following his career in the British Army where Callum served as a Command Post Operative he left the Royal Artillery open to new experiences. Alongside his ever-present passion for football he took up more hobbies including Golf, Astronomy and Astrophotography.
Callum has always watched and supported his partner (Cast member Natalie) but recently has emerged himself in her passion too by becoming a member at Stageright. He played the role of Police Officer in Zelu4Zero which was Callum's debut on camera. Callum and Natalie have also brought their children into the fold through family auditions for commercials and has been previously casted in a promotional advert.
LYLIE READ
Jimmy
Lylie brings the cheek to the screen in his role as Jimmy, the side kick and right hand man to Chris.

Lylie has been acting for around 3 years and has attended multiple acting workshops.
He has been casted in a comedy SITCOM, music video and a feature film .
Lylie likes acting in his spare time, but has a passion for football, golf and gaming .
Lylie has been looking forward to the filming of Wenlock road and is grateful to have been cast as Jimmy.
DAN BURLISON
Jim Simpson
Dan plays the role of Jim Simpson, the cadet at the sea cadet unit that befriends George and shows him the 'ropes'

NB, the real Jim Simpson still serves as commander of the same sea cadet unit some 50yrs later.
